I am the proud daughter of a teacher. My mother taught MATH among other things for the last 32 years before retiring. I am also the blessed mother of two beautiful daughters, Payton and Drew. They bless me everyday in ways that they don’t always know.
I live in Porter on a farm that I was raised on. I have always lived in Porter even though I worked in Tulsa and Muskogee for periods of time throughout my life. I have serveral animals. I have two cats (but I’m not sure they realize they’re cats) named Noir and Toothless. Two older dogs, a schnauzer named Sugar and a Yorkie named Chase. We recently got an Aussiedoodle that’s a very LARGE dog considering I’ve only had small dogs. His name is Yona, which means Bear in Cherokee.
I love to read, fish, sleep, play video games, bowl, go to movies and pretty much normal things. I would have to say that one of my favorite places to go is a book store. I can get lost in there for hours. Well, that and any store there and any store that sells tools.
I love teaching reading but even moreso I love being there for the students. Every student becomes my kiddo once they’re in my room.
Being a mother of two girls, we’re on the go a lot. We have soccer games for both school and recreation and cheerleading functions to attend. We attend church currently in Coweta at Community Baptist but that’s a recent change from Porter First Baptist where I grew up in the church setting and singing in the choir. I love going to the movies with my daughters and my soccer mom friends and enjoying life and laughing.
I absolutely love to read. I also love to encourage others to read and find books and magazines that interest them so they begin to love reading as much as I do. When we go to Tulsa I love to go to Barnes & Noble and to Garner’s Used Book Store. I could stay in those stores for hours just looking at all the new books that I want to read. I always have a book that I’m reading on-hand.
As a family we like to spend time going fishing, bowling, out to eat, and plan on starting to do a lot more traveling soon.
