Current Position:

This is my first year at Mary White Elementary. I am teaching Kindergarten and I am so excited to meet the families!

Previous Position:

I began teaching at a Tulsa Public School, Celia Clinton, in August 2005.  I taught Pre-Kindergarten.  The majority of my students spoke Spanish and I worked to hard to bridge the language gap between myself and the parents.  I loved incorporating other cultures in the day to day teaching.

After 6 years, I took a position at Riverfield Country Day School.  RCDS is a Reggio Inspired School and is in dialogue with Reggio Emilia.  While there I learned a different way to teach that is hands on and encourages higher level thinking.  This approach is also child led as opposed to teacher led.  We encourage the children to form hypothesis and then to test and revise as needed.

After 4 years, I took a couple of years off teaching.  I worked as a Manager at Pandora Jewelry Company.  I enjoyed it but it was time for me to return to my first love—teaching.

Family Information:

I am a newly wed and have only been married for almost 2 years.  I met Anthony (my husband) in 2014 with the help of EHarmony.  He works at All Saints Home Medical as a Tech.  He is everything that I wanted in a husband and more.  We have one furbaby, Roxie.  She is a fiesty little Chihuahua.

Personal Information:

As much as I love teaching I enjoy my breaks as well!  During breaks from school, you can usually find me in the kitchen.  I love to cook and bake.  Trying new recipes is one of my hobbies and I have a board on Pinterest bursting with recipes to try.  When I am not in the kitchen, I probably am reading curled up on the couch.  I love Culinary Murder Mysteries. My favorite author is Joann Fluke.
